Youtube is the number one video sharing website on the internet with
a billion users, it's the go to website for any aspiring animator to upload their video to, thinking they'll have the biggest chance of it being seen by many. However with some of YouTube's features it's starting to show that this website is not the best fit for all users. (MAVSocial, n.d.) gives pros and cons for each website.
However the second most popular video sharing website Vimeo with 17 million users is providing different features which could be more appealing to other users and could be a better fit for creativity.

The comparison shows Vimeo is tailored more for creativity and actually looks at the content of videos rather than basing it on statistics showing they care more for the users' experience. This means that if an animator wants to make a high quality animated one off masterpiece then it should be uploaded to Vimeo where even though it's less likely to be seen, it will be taken more seriously because of the professional users and could be picked up for an award or even be offered a job.
Whereas if you want to make a series of short animations for fun with the hope of them becoming trending, then YouTube is the best place to upload because there is a larger audience to view your video to become a fanbase.
