Production

I wanted the video to be hand drawn but it wasn't possible with the time given. Instead I drew elements of the animation that would need to move independently which were edited on Photoshop and then animated using After Effects. I was inspired by Simon's Cat to keep the background and characters black and white as it makes it easy to understand and makes you focus on the story. However I made the main character Max, in colour to put emphasis on to him to differentiate it from the Simon's Cat videos. The whole production process was created within 3 weeks, showing my strategy worked with the total time of 108 hours to draw and animate and 10 hours to create and find music online.

It was difficult and time-consuming to come up with my own theme tune that hadn't been heard before. I created the sound effects for Max but had to find royalty free sound effects and music, which was very easy to find on the internet. I ended the video with a short call to action to encourage people to subscribe.
