Saruhan Saral, the owner of the channel Mightyracoon! created the video Marvel Vs. DC - The Ultimate Crossover which from my view tracking information comes up in the Top 5 #animation videos nearly every week. I asked him questions about why he thinks his video and his theme of superheroes became so popular and what he thinks an animation should include.

Well i really searched a lot for this "marvel vs dc" thing. People really want to see a fight like that but there was nothing about it. So that's how i got the idea

Those were the times that I started doing 3D animations for my Youtube channel so that's why i decided to make the fight in 3D

Why did you chose 3D animation and do you think choosing a 3D style helped it gain popularity?

Did you think it was going to be as popular as it is?

Well no actually because in the first month the video got like 800 views lol. Then i started messaging famous youtube channels. Some of them recognized me and liked the video. Some of them shared in their Facebook page. Then people started to recognize the video and finally it got viral.

Has the popularity of the video gained you more subscribers and has it gained you any new opportunities like working on big projects with other people?

yeah of course! Now i'm working with a youtube page called "batinthesun". Gonna do an animation film for them. After that i'm gonna work with "ScrewAttack". Both are really good youtube channels!

Where do you work- in your house or in a studio?

Working in my home with one laptop,by myself. :)

Do you work as a professional animator or do you do it just for fun?

for now i'm just doing for fun. But in the future i don't see myself an animator. But who knows :)

Why did you chose to upload it to Youtube and do you think by uploading it to Youtube it became more successful than using another video uploading website like Vimeo or Facebook?

Youtube is one of the biggest websites on the net. So it is better to upload videos on youtube rather than vimeo or other websites

Name a few things that you think an animation should include to make it popular? (eg. music, characters, story)

Storyline is the most important thing. Then comes animating,choosing good music and stuff.

Did you do anything to promote the video?

Yeap. As i said before,sent messages to popular youtube channels. And luckily,i got recognised :)
